I was at my grampa’s house in Tennessee for two weeks. It was just me, my grampa, and my two brothers. So there I was on a farm with all boys in the middle of nowhere. I walked into the house to go to the bathroom. While I was in the bathroom, I happened to look down and I see that my underwear is soaked in blood. I started to sorta panic! I stuffed some toilet paper in my underwear and walked into the living room. That was when I noticed that some guest had just arrived. I just stood there unable to talk, frozen in my shock. The phone rang. My brothers were stuck out in the woods because their four-wheeler had died, and they needed to be picked up. Everyone got up immediately, leaving me and the guest—a woman I barely knew—at home alone. I took the opportunity and said, “I sorta have a problem…” and she just looked at me. “Female issues,” I said to clarify.
Then she said, ” Your period?”
“Uh… yeah,” I said.
And she said, “Would you like me to tell your grampa for you?”
“Yes, please.”
She did exactly that. When my brothers got back, we all went to the barn. To my surprise, she announced it in front of everyone! That was sooo embarrassing! I remembered all of this this morning when I got into the truck and I got a really bad cramp.

That must have been awkward! I think I would have died of embarrasment. When I got my period, it was just me and my mom in the house and she cried more than me!

-thanks! i really appriciate it (my mom was 12 and a half) i know you dont really know exactly when it will happen, but i just wanted a guesstimate. i turned 12 in early april so im getting to my half year mark. I carry a purse arround so ill put some pads in there, my mom always tells me to put pads in my purse or bookbag. thanks for the help!

Bless Your Heart!!! Some people just have NO COUTH!! Sorry you had such a rude announcement made on your behalf for such a personal event, but now you can just let everyone know to “pick you up some tampons” while they’re at Wal-Mart!! lol Best to just make lemonade out of lemons, huh!! I am a MiMi who raises 4 gorgeous granddaughters, and we will be broaching that time in the next couple years or so, and I want to make sure I do everything RIGHT to prepare them for the whole event. Hope I succeed!

i must have had the worst first bra experience ever! i was in walmart with my mom and older sister and i tryed on this sports bra and while trying it on i accidently ripped off the tags and thought it wouldnt matter. then when we got to the register the lady couldnt find the tags and my mom told her it was my first bra so she starts yelling to the other cashiers “FIRST BRA!!! NO TAGS! FIRST BRA!!!” and then the lady starts saying loudly “First Bra! Half off!!” the cashier gave us half off because it was y first bra and said it sooo loudly. my older sister was cracking up next to me and i was so embarrassed. now that wouldnt affect me but back then it seemed like the worst thing ever.
